FA Charter Standard Development Club

Welcome to Kirkham Junior Football Club. We provide coaching and organised football for youngsters in the Kirkham and Rural Fylde area. Kirkham Junior Football Club has over 300 Members (both boys and girls) aged from 5 to 18 years. We run over 21 teams from our U5 and U6 Training Squads and Mini-soccer Under 7s through to our senior Under 18 squad.

We currently play our home matches at Bank Lane in Warton, Coronation Road in Kirkham, Weeton Barracks, Wesham Recreation Ground and Wrea Green.

In December 2008, the Club was awarded the FA Charter Standard – Development Club Award by the Football Association, showing that the club had met the FA’s most stringent levels of coaching, administration, football development and child protection.

To promote fair play and respect, all club members, coaches, players, parents, guardians and supporters are required to follow the club’s code of conduct at all times.

A Proud History

Kirkham Boys was founded in 1972 by Brian Jennings, later joined by Hughie Norris, to provide football for a keen group of young boys. Supported by Kirkham Senior Football Club, they joined the BAYC League in the 1972/73 Season, entering the Under 13 Section with a very young squad of boys.

Two years later, Peter Woods, Eddie Brettell and Jock Timms formed a Committee and founded the Kirkham Junior Football Club. The Club quickly grew as more boys joined, and more teams were formed over the next years until the Club was represented at all ages from Under 10 to Under 16.
